KGB Airsoft Update 25th JULY 2010
The overnighter: The aftermath
The uprising began with a poorly armed group of rebels trying to storm the government armory in an attempt to obtain modern weapons - The government troops though outnumbered put up a fierce defence and for a while superior weaponry held back the tide of freedom fighters, but in the end sheer numbers told and the Armory was looted. Emboldend by their success the rebels turned their attention to the government controlled radio station and after another fierce battle were able to broadcast a message to the people of the country calling for them to rise up in support of the forces of liberation. The third target for the rebels was the bank - In an effort to persuade the Americans to withdraw support from the corrupt government the 2nd assistant 'Trade' from the American embassy accompanied by his bodyguards came to a meeting near the front lines where a deal was to be proposed - Diamonds from the Bank to buy assistance for the rebel movement. Another fierce battle for control broke out, during the gun battle one of the rebels managed to obtain the suitcase full of diamonds from the ruins of the bank but his body was discovered in the brush a few hundred yards away when the rest of the Rebel forces secured the area. He had been shot in the back at close range and the diamonds were gone - the 2nd assistant and his bodyguards had also vanished in the chaos.
As night began to fall small but vicious fights broke out as both sides fought for control of a strategic objective...tracers lit up the blackness as men fought and died in the brush, silently moving forwards, ears straining for any sound that might reveal the location of their hated foes - Shots and screams shattered the quiet when those locations were revealed.
Finally both sides exhausted broke off the combat and tried to get what little sleep they could.
The following morning began with new recruits joining the rebel forces whilst a convoy of troops from the capital made good the government losses. The government troops now at full strength began aggressively patrolling trying to seek out and destroy the rebels - meanwhile these same rebels although elated by their first victories against the hated regime were desperately short of ammunition . . .
the rebel leader was contacted by the 2nd assistant who revealed that he was in fact the local station chief for the CIA! In terse negotiations he indicated that America would be willing to assist IF the Rebels could guarantee American interests AND that the Rebels could prove they could win this civil war - In an act of good faith he provided information revealing that no government troops were close to the Rebels forward base thus allowing a group to move supplies of ammunition to the Rebels on the front line. General Gabagbo decided to make an example of a local village known to aid the Rebels and instructed the local garrison commander to burn it to the ground and kill all inhabitants as a lesson to all those who would defy him.
However a sympathiser inside the government passed this information to the rebels who sent a scratch force to oppose the attack. The following battle was the bloodiest yet seen with horrendous loss of life - greatly outnumbered the rebel troops fought like wild men, killing 3 government troops for every man they lost but in the end sheer numbers told and the last wounded rebels were shot or bayonetted to death. They were soon joined by every man, woman and child in the unfortunate village - even the livestock was killed as the huts went up in flames. On hearing the news of the casualties suffered by his troops in the attack General Gabagbo flew into a rage and issued orders for nothing more than genocide in the region sympathetic to the uprising.
A 'special' weapon was issued to his most elite unit with orders to introduce it into the tributary of the river that fed the hostile region - Upon introduction to the water after 1 minuite a toxin would be dispersed that would kill any creature that drank from the water. Once again the inside man in the government managed to get this information through to the rebels and a force of hardened fighters lay in wait for the governments finest - This time the fight was short but bloody, as the rebels searched the dead for the toxin they found some of the government troops had been shot in the back! - The CIA had taken part in this action and had recovered the toxin to keep it safe from either side. Although this threat had been eliminated the fierce fighting in the area left the rebels hungry and hunting parties were despatched to look for game to feed the growing army - although there were a few encounters with government patrols they were succesful and thus fed and rested they prepared for the final push.
As word of the events spread through the region more and more people joined the war against the government - Finally the remaining troops loyal to the general made a last ditch stand - Knowing their previous actions guaranteed a terrible end they fought like wild beasts, however the end was inevitable and ovewhelmed they died to the last man. Their actions gave the general and his ADC a chance to make a run for the border where they hoped to escape from the fate that awaited them - Pursued by the rebels and the government troops that had gone over to the rebel side they slipped through the cordon of searchers and after a trek through the jungles and swamps were within sight of the border when by a terrible twist of fate they were spotted by the CIA who were assisting the newly formed Government - A radio call brought a nearby patrol and after a short firefight general Gabagbo and his ADC were shot to death and their bodies returned for public display at the Capital.
KGB Airsoft Update 25th JUNE 2010
THE OVERNIGHER !
Tensions on the Ivory Coast have always been strained, the wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone have proven to be destabilizing to the surrounding countries with fear gripping the local people and the power hungry ready to exploit them at every turn. The entire population knew the elections were a farce. There was no way in hell Gbagbo's 'cabinet' took over 80% of the votes. As has been proven time and time again in Sierra Leone, money is king. After the RUF's stranglehold on the country was finally released in 2009 the long suffering civilians finally believed the country would again become a peaceful nation. Indeed it was for almost 12 months whilst the UN established the demilitarisation camps throughout the country. From Makeni to Kenema, centres were established where former rebel soldiers (mostly children) could turn in their weapons and be reinstated as bona-fide civilians. From these camps they would be clothed, fed and most importantly educated. Most spent the first weeks in agony as they went cold-turkey.
However the relative peace has been unsteady for a long time. The ruling Party under Gbagbo have been slowly strengthening their position in the country and have started to formalize their attacks upon the rebels after they started to become more over after the suspicious death of General Robert Guei. The Ivory Coat Patriotic Movement (MPCI) claim that the government assassinated Guei because he was gaining too much popular support. The only chance for peace was the elections three months ago. The population turned out in record numbers to vote, each held their breath as the votes were counted and the figures announced. When Gbagbo, won by a landslide victory, coupled with the ‘coincidental timing’ of Guei’s death there was pandemonium. Villages were set ablaze, shops were ransacked, there were riots the length and breadth of the country. During the night key govenment officals disappeared whilst others fled the country. Everybody know they were either paid off or killed. Uncut diamonds were being captured in record numbers by border patrols.
The government says the MPCI is supported and directed from abroad, with the backing of a foreign country. No evidence has been offered to support the claims, but it is clear that the rebels are getting funds from somewhere.
A group of former government soldiers gathered in the remains of their village hall last night. They have decided the time for elections and politics is over. As far as they are concerned the only way to oust these 'criminals' and restore a properly elected government is by force.
They have called themselves the M.J.P – Movement for Justice and Peace. Today they are coming for Gbagbo and his henchmen. They are currently poorly equipped but have their eye on securing a cache of firearms. They may be poorly equipped but they are well trained, and certainly motivated. Of course the western world didn’t take too kindly to the UN peacekeepers being attacked. Whilst some managed to flee the country in time others didn’t.
Locals near the Guinean border reported men dropping into the hillside with parachutes during the night. However when they searched in the morning no trace was found . . .

KGB Airsoft Update 12th JUNE 2010
Plans are currently afoot to organise an overnight game. The current date is set at 24th/25th July.
So what is an 'overnighter' ? To the uninitiated it is a game that runs over a whole weekend. Generally we get kicked off somewhere around late morning on the Saturday and play through to the late evening. The game then stops and the players can relax. This is usually accompanied by a BBQ and campfire (and possibly a drink or two !). When you can no longer keep your eyes open you can then jump into a tent and catch some ZZZ's. In the morning we'll then have some breakfast and resume the game where we left off. We'll then play through to late afternoon on the sunday.
The game scenario is being finalised as we speak but we have some good ideas ! The game will be of the 'hardcore' variety and will encompass the whole site, its big! The overnight games are hard work, expect to be to be on your feet for most of the day stomping through difficult terrain and getting shot at. I promise you will sleep well on Sunday night. However although demanding on the body they are also cracking fun. Expect lots of larks as well as serious gaming. If you are thinking about getting into airsoft and quite like the idea of coming along for the overnighter its a great chance to meet everybody and get your face recognised. We have plenty of hire equipment so get your mates to come down too, you wont be sorry . . .
Prices are TBC but are usually £40 for the weekend (£30 for members). There will also be plenty of ammo and grenades available on the day so bring some extra cash. Check into the forum for up-to-the-minute details as and when they are announced. We'll get a role-call going shortly to give players a chance to choose sides. Are you a loyal soldier or rebel scum ?
KGB Airsoft Update 11th MAY 2010
After an initial test period we can confirm that the new site at Porkellis Moor is indeed perfect for our needs.
Firstly we have the ability to park off-road at the site itself. Secondly the site is big enough to play all-day (and night) games for as many people as we can get. Thirdly the terrain is 'busy' enough to keep everbody happy. The ground itself is open scrubland, interspersed with ready made paths, bunkers, walls and ditches in the north. In the east you have an assortment of very defendable high-ground for fighting fixed position battles. Down in the south we have open woodland on a slope, complete with various ditches for defilade. Perfect for uphill battles through the forest chasing the viet-cong! Then in the west you have dense woodland with open sections, rivers and the occasional swamp!
This is all linked by established trails and open moorland, allowing on-the-spot changes to the gameplay to keep you on your toes for the entire day. This site most certainly has something for everyone.
KGB Airsoft Update 16th MARCH 2010
After being told we were no longer to have the use of the old site at Retallick we have now spread our wings further afield. At first there were a few worries as to whether we would be able to find a new site again quickly enough. Well, we can cast your fears aside as we now have the use of not one, but TWO sites for you to enjoy ! The first is the Woodland Valley site over at Laddock. This site comprises of three different sections of woodland for us to use. It has open fields, marsh-land, dense woodland and a rocky ravine.
The second and newest site is down near Poldark mine. This site is huge and consists of open gorse moorland, swampy ground and plenty of heavily wooded areas with scrubland. The games will be rotated between the sites depending on player preferance and general availablilty. Please check the 'where we are' page for updated information, rules and maps. As always please log-in to the forum for up-to-the-minute information.
If you are a new player or fancy coming down with a group of mates please pop in and introduce yourself. You wont be sorry !
KGB Airsoft Update 8th FEBURARY 2010
KGB Airsoft moved over to its new home for the initial 'soft' launch last weekend
The area is called 'woodland valley farm' and is located approximately a mile outside of Laddock between Truro and St Austell. The site is made up of open fields, woodland and some steep valleys. Please check HERE for directions to the site. Negotiations are still underway for continued use of the land but so far it looks promising. Stay tuned over at the FORUMS for up-to-date information. With a new site comes new rules so please make yourself aware of them HERE
KGB Airsoft Update 25th JANUARY 2010
Just a quick update to keep you all in the loop as to what is happening in the world of KGB AIRSOFT.
After almost 10 months of hectic CQB madness at the indoor site at Camborne it was with regret that we had to pull out and return to the original site. This was due to the charming local teenage population who took it upon themselves to break in repeatedly to destroy our handy-work. We returned on countless occasions to restore the damage and continue building new structures. However it eventually became so much of a problem that we decided to return to the swamp.
The return to the swamp was always going to be a temporary measure as there is residential building work going on next to the site. We were officially informed by the landowner that the game on 24/01/10 would be our last. HOWEVER ! Do not despair chaps as plans are currently afoot to find another site in the local vicinity. We have several promising leads that are being investigated as we speak and we will return to business as usual, hopefully in time for the next game, albeit in a different location. We will be looking to secure another woodland site for you all to continue your 6mm carnage
Watch this space for developments
KGB Airsoft Update 20th MARCH 2009
The new site at TUCKINGMILL is now well established and is proving fast and furious, which is a bit of a complete change from the usual swampy antics. It is all work in progress and the site seems to be evolving on a weekly basis with more structures being constructed. Given time we will be expanding fully into all areas of the site and aiming to provide a more intense CQB arena. We'll be going up a couple of levels to add some three dimensional madness at some point.... Sorry, but they'll be no dangerous flights of 300 Napoleonic Steps for you to negotiate.
KGB Airsoft Update 1st JANUARY 2009
Well, after some serious speculation regarding the swamp, we can now confirm that KGB AIRSOFT has secured a new URBAN site. The site is located at TUCKINGMILL in CAMBORNE and is just off the main A30. Its on a main bus route and is not too far from the local train station, making it more accessible than the previous site. The site is going to be a bit 'work in progress' over the next few weeks, but we aim to have a decent CQB complex set up as soon as possible. WATCH THIS SPACE We are now able to offer party specific bookings at the site. Available on Saturdays only and a minimum booking of 20 people. Get in touch with Chef for more details either via the forum or through email.

KGB Airsoft Update 30 JUNE 2008
Its all busy busy in the world of KGB. We are currently preparing for our Overnight Training session that will include both a Sniper Course and a FIBUA course. These are in preparation for OPERATION: BLACK RAIN that will be taking place at Sennybridge FIBUA Village at the end of AUGUST. We are also assisting a certain branch of the Armed Forces in their Training packages (hopefully more of this to follow). We will soon be able to offer party specific bookings at the site.
