Tis a standalone expansion, ie it can be played on its own or is backward
compatible with the original ArmA2 - meaning you can use all the new features
with the existing chernarus setting and eventually all the user made maps
and scenario's once they are updated.
Vanilla ArmA2 has already been patched to version 1.7 and is now large memory
address aware making it ideal for 64 bit systems with large amounts of ram.
It costs around £16 which is pretty cheap considering what it is.

Its true ArmA2 does need a fairly decent PC to run it as it should but the engine
as mentioned is now highly optimised and the game itself can be tweaked graphics
wise like no other meaning that most modern PC's will be able to run it in some form
or other.
If there are any dedicated or new ArmA2 players out there make sure you check out our
new free to the public rustyinplaces teamspeak 3 server and drop yourself into
the ArmA2 public channel, we train most sunday evenings everyone welcome
